History of Swedish Hospital
Swedish Hospital was founded in 1886 by the Evangelical Covenant Church, with a mission to care for the whole person—biological, psychological, social and spiritual. Now a comprehensive health system, Swedish Hospital serves the medical needs of Chicago's north and northwest sides through a wide range of health and wellness services.
The hospital is known for its high-quality nursing, convenient location and personal atmosphere. More than 500 physicians and advanced practice providers, 3,000 employees and 150 volunteers are committed to serving the community’s health care needs.
